The Can Pure™ Water Purification System (WPS) is a complete stand-alone water treatment system designed to produce potable water in remote field conditions, emergency and disaster situations. Compact, portable, no electricity, gravity or challenging chemicals required.

The Can Pure™ Water Purification System uses a patent pending, dual process purification system incorporating microfiltration and chlorination eliminating a wide spectrum of micro-organisms, cysts, virus and bacteria. The Can Pure™ Difference

No electricity required. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System (WPS) does not require electricity to operate. This makes for a lighter system with fewer parts prone to failure in the field.

Powerful transfer pumps. The 5000-C uses small but reliable gas or diesel powered pumps instead of electric pumps. Many electric pumps supplied with other systems are not designed to move water up elevations or over distances. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System also has optional pumps of varying size and power to meet your individual needs.

Military grade shipping cases. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System is shipped within compact, lightweight, military grade cases that act as both storage and operating modules. Many cases supplied with other systems are extremely heavy, awkward, bulky, expensive to ship and hard to move around. The Can Pure™ WPS cases are completely sealed with air tight gaskets, pressure relief valves, and also meet international insect control standards that many wooden cases do not.

Real life microfiltration system. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System incorporates a proprietary 5 stage microfiltration system that is designed to work in challenging, real life conditions. Most 2 or 3 stage systems are just not practical when the water source is the least bit turbid. When the Can Pure™ WPS filters do not need to be changed, inexpensive filter stages are there to protect the more expensive and important ones.

Residual protection. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System uses reliable chlorine purification technology to eliminate bacteria, viruses and other waterborne diseases AND leave a residual level of free chlorine to protect the treated water from recontamination during storage, transportation and distribution. Reverse osmosis and UV light purification systems do not provide this protection. Cities and towns across the globe use residual chlorine for this exact same purpose. Recontamination of treated water is a real threat, especially in the challenging conditions that the Can Pure™ WPS is designed to be used.

Economical to purchase, operate and maintain. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System 5000-C offers incredible value when compared with reverse osmosis or UV light-based systems. Low capital investment. The typical chemical treatment cost of the Can Pure™ WPS is approximately one cent per 20 L (5 US Gal.). The 5000-C includes inexpensive pre-filters to protect more expensive filters to reduce operating costs. The 5000-C is one of the lightest systems available which also saves shipping costs. The 5000-C does not require technical support which can often cost more than the systems themselves. Lastly, the Can Pure™ Water Purification System is built to operate under rugged conditions and to be used and re-deployed over and over again reducing the capital investment each and every time it is used.

Safety protection. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System includes a number of safety features that most systems overlook: Flow restrictors and pressure limiters are included to ensure that it is impossible to accidentally overload the microfiltration system by using a pump that is too large. Other devices, such as a digital flow meter, ensure the water bladder is not over, or under, filled and allows for precision chlorine dosing. Check valves and pressure relief valves are also included to protect your investment in pumps and prevent downtime in the field. – The Can Pure™ WPS offers 3 different field testing programs. These programs provide the user with the ability to test AND document each and every batch of water produced. Reverse osmosis and UV light systems simply do not provide this valuable feature. Test Kit 1 uses free chlorine test strips. Test Kit 2 uses electronic, hand-held, digital-free chlorine meters. All test kits include blank test reports and clip boards allowing for constant field testing and documentation of the purification and treatment process.

Dual process protection. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System uses microfiltration AND chemical purification. Chlorination without microfiltration is simply not effective. The process of chlorination to kill micro-organisms, as discussed by the World Health Organization (WHO), reads “…the process only works, however, if the chlorine comes into direct contact with the organisms. If the water contains silt, the bacteria can hide inside it and not be reached by the chlorine.”.

Complete system. The Can Pure™ Water Purification System provides absolutely everything required to treat, purify, store and distribute water, free of cysts, bacteria and viruses. No other water purification system provides such a complete and comprehensive package including test kits, spare parts, hose repair kits, bladder repair kits (that do not require heat sources) and much more. Optional equipment includes collapsible water bottles for storage and distribution from 6 L -20 L, additional water bladders from 5,000 – 10,000 L for extra versatility, a multi-line distribution system allowing an unlimited amount of users to fill bottles at once, and much more.

Dual Process Purification

Microfiltration

A unique intake strainer and 5-stage microfiltration system ensures that all raw water is filtered to 1 micron absolute before entering the bladder for final chemical purification and treatment. Filtering to 1 micron absolute physically removes cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium that chemical only systems cannot remove.

The 1 micron absolute rated filter cartridge meets or exceeds the three-log (99.9%) removal requirements described in NSF Standard 53 for cyst sized particles. Independent lab validated tests performed by the filter manufacturer using live organisms resulted in the removal of 99.99 percent of Giardia lamblia cysts and 99.98% of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts. Absolute rated one micron filter media removes cysts sized particles for safe, cyst-free drinking water while also substantially removing sediment, silt and turbidity. Reusable pre-filters dramatically reduce the need for replacement filters.

Chemical Treatment and Purification

Once the raw water has been filtered to 1 micron absolute, it enters the bladder for final chemical treatment and purification using reliable, measurable and easy to use tablet technology.

AQUATABS® are an internationally recognized brand of NaDCC water purification tablet that have been tried and tested in a wide range of natural and polluted water sources. When added to water they dissolve to release a measured dose of Hypochlorous acid (free available chlorine) that is universally recognized as a safe and effective water disinfectant or purification agent. This unique tablet, while chlorine based, will not colour the water or leave objectionable chemical tastes resulting in a very palatable water.

AQUATABS® have been successfully used by all the major international aid agencies and NGO's such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, MSF (Medecins Sans Frontiers), and Red Cross Organizations since the mid 1980's for water disinfection, often in the most adverse and difficult conditions. AQUATABS'® active ingredient, NaDCC (ACL60) is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60 and has been approved / registered for drinking water treatment by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
